I know, I've been gone awhile, but I have been a busy girl! As some already know, I am a Director for the Texas Bow Fishing Association and was one put in charge of reorganizing, especially the legal and book keeping side of things, of this 22 year old association. It hasn't been easy, but our board of directors finally have most of it done and up and running properly. Tim McKee retired and simply handed it over after many years of running the while smear solo.
In my spare time from reorganizing the TBA, Heading up a hunting team in a national challenge as team Captain ( and we won), I saw a need for many of our Texas archery hunters, to be able and organize to have a support system, meet other Texas hunters, have a place for proper information, and for many, just friendship and kinship so I set up a new Club. I set it up as a round table association where it is a for the membership, by the membership, where as every member has an equal voice with making decisions pertaining to their club, and majority rules.
So far, I got the book keeping up, a website and talk forum up, and our first annual meeting and hog hunt hosted by a fellow member to be held in Hunt TX the weekend of March 26-28th. We've published our first news letter that was a great success and a wonderful combination of hunting stories, recipes, a membership profile, news, etc. and working on the second. Several members participated to make it a variety of good and interesting things. Many of these members also shoot a vertical bow full time or part time, but it seems to not matter much so I say it's gone extremely well. It's about hunting with arrows. Many of the members have had injuries and don't want to give up archery hunting, so of course, many of these members are age 50+.
So, that's my announcement for today. If you are one of those, who like other friendly and knowledgable older hunters who can tell some good stories and offer great support, and have time to go hunting, stop by and say howdy.
